The Last Glamazon Post

The final round of the 2009 WERA season took place the last Saturday and Sunday of October at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Classic Course. I took first place in the Women's Superstock race, which netted me a total of 134 points this season and the championship in that class in WERA West. Yay!

In the 600 Superstock class, I took 6th place in the race, which makes me 7th in the region this season. Not so freakin' bad.

But these results didn't come easy. In Saturday's 20-lap solo race I was hit by Charles Strong at the exit of Turn 5, which caused me to crash. Fairings, wiring, forks, swing arm are just a few of the bits that would have to be replaced to get the bike working again. With the help of the following people, it happened, I raced on Sunday, and my goal of racing a full season came to fruition thanks to them: The California Superbike School, particularly Keith Code, Dylan Code, Will Eikenberry, cornerworkers Joe and Michael Jabara, Tim Johnson, and James Toohey. For their mechanical help and psychological support: Krystyna Kubran, Corey Baum, Chris Sarbora, Bryan Galvan, Roger Martin and SoCal Supersport. My success is their doing.

Due to reaching my personal goal of completing a full season of racing, I'm both sad and happy to report that this will most likely be my last post to the Glamazon Racing blog. But fear not, I will still be highly active in motorcycle riding as a coach for the California Superbike School. Thanks for reading, supporting and riding.

Hey Kristi. Congratulations on your win. Spectacular... and even more in doing it despite the crash. That takes mental toughness.

Sorry to hear that this is your last blog. Hope to read more of your articles in Motorcyclist? other pubs?

Look forward to seeing you at a couple California Superbike School events next year as I continue my own "education."

Congrats on your race win and season championship, Kristi! Count me impressed and proud of your achievements. I'm really glad the crash you got caught in caused only mechanical damage. See you soon!

Hey Kristi! You are so awesome! Congrats on the win. I remember before you started racing and you told me you were going to do this, and you followed your vision! Woohoo! Keep living your dream, girl! Kardena.

Congratulations Kristi! You deserve it after all of your hard work and determination.

I was reading one of your older posts from 2007 and you mentioned you would help recommend a track club or offer some advice regarding the clubs you have attended. I recently completed Levels 1-3 @ Cal SBK school (you were my Level 1 coach...thx!) and I am looking to go track riding consistently in 2010. I checked out some of the sites you recommended, but I am really looking for a track that limits the number of riders in a specific group if possible.

Congrats and looking forward to learning more during Level 4 in March!

Thanks,

Dan

IT was nice to meet you at the BMW open house event. I hope Craig didn't talk your ear off or spread any nasty rumors about me. Nice stuff here at your site, I'll be back for sure. Robert.
